THE SEEN AND UNSEEN IN OUR ENVIRONMENT

Scott McIntire

Could you tell us more about the collection featured in the ANASAEA gallery? What themes or concepts does it explore, and could you provide a brief background on the inspiration behind this collection and does nature play a role in your artistic inspiration? How do natural elements find their way into your work?
For the past 10 years, I have explored the unseen energy fields surrounding us. I begin this journey in my garden thinking about how we receive a variety of radio waves through the air, especially cellular phone transmissions. My interest in science led me to consider other transmission sources such as sounds, smells, magnetic fields, neutrinos, and microorganisms.

My current energy field paintings explore sound visualization through concentric circles.  For me, each circle becomes a source of sound moving toward the viewer where various colors represent different elements of sound including pitch, timbre, texture, volume, and duration. I begin my painting with a background color that allows me to place these circles in diverse environments, situations, times of day, and moods.

How does your physical environment influence your creativity?
My work is a personal interpretation of the environments I travel through and experience.

How do you engage with the art community and seek opportunities to exhibit or collaborate with other artists?
My work has been represented in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums for the past 40 years in both the US and overseas. I am fortunate to live in an area with a large group of supportive and talented artists.

With the rise of platforms like ANASAEA, how do you think these digital spaces contribute to the art community? Do they open up new opportunities for artists to connect with audiences?
I am very excited to be part of ANASAEA, I see it as a vehicle to expose my artwork to a wider range of viewers and collectors through the virtual gallery and the ability to transform the paintings into NFTs.

As environmental concerns gain prominence, how do you see the art world responding in terms of sustainable practices and incorporating eco-friendly materials?
Your platform is so user-friendly and easy to navigate. I wish my website was as easy to use. I look forward to becoming a premium member so I can exhibit additional series of paintings.
